Artist's Statement
Abstract painting, to me, is breaking down a thought or idea to its core, where the subject is gone and you build it back together, changing it, making it take on a whole new perspective.
My process is a balance between chaos and calm. My paintings begin with chaos and slowly become organized and intentional. After establishing a color palette, I paint intuitively, without a plan or any idea of where the painting will take me. This is the best part, each painting takes on a new story. It’s often a struggle to make it feel cohesive and successful, but the challenge is what I crave and keeps me going back to my studio every day.
